The memory of the holy martyr Ermolayi

The honorable presbyter Hermolai and his companions <unk> the holy martyrs Hermippus and Hermocrates were the hierarchs of the holy Nicomedia church; they were the remnants of the 20,000 martyrs burned by Maximian in the church, whose memory is commemorated on December 28. These three servants of the Lord hid from the fear of the pagans in various places, but at the same time, wherever a convenient opportunity presented itself, they were partakers of the holy faith and turned to Christ. Thus, holy Hermolai, seeing Panteleimon, converted him to Christianity after that divine conversation.

At the interrogation they courageously confessed the true Christ, blasphemed the vile idols and their worshipers; for this, condemned to death by the torturers, they died a cruel visitation. More in detail about their sufferings is reported in the life of the holy great martyr Panteleimon under number 27.

The condac, voiced four.

Kondack, verse 4: And when he had lived honorably, and had received the crown of the sacredness, he had repaid the sacrifice of the idols, and the good shepherd of the flock of Christ was a wise man, and Pantheon a true teacher.
